Try Rheingold, I mentioned it to Rob, its modified ISTA software (BMW OEM Software). Haven't had a chance to experiment with it yet but I'll have it set up tomorrow.

Thanks for the links.  When I try to install BMW Standard Tool 2.12 I receive this message.

I run mine on Windows XP, so I never had that problem.
Do you have a laptop with XP or NT on it? (XP would be the easier one to use)

I don't have anything below Win 7.  Is there a later version that will work on x64 OS?

As per Sparkie, it should work on 64bit systems

Confirmed for windows 7 x64 without having to host a previous version of windows. I would imagine it works on windows 8. Should work with both x32 & x64 systems, BMW Tools 2.12 is the latest version as far as i know.

Great thread! FYI for any E46 owners out there - I will be doing this shortly on mine as well. If anyone wants something done to theirs / needs help, I will do my best on the E46 side of things.

Once I have everything set up here and tested, I will post results along with a dedicated Dropbox link for this forum specifically that will contain the programs and other necessary files
