General Discussion / New wheels.. not sure which ones I like better
« on: April 04, 2014, 09:03:01 PM »
I ended up buying some 19" BBS CH wheels.  (the silver ones) to replace my gun metal 19" SF-71s.

I'm sort of torn between them. I'm not sure which wheel I like better.  I like the darker because it looks nicer with the paint, but at the same time i really like the BBS wheels.   Opinions?

General Discussion / picked up a set of rims for the M3

I ended up picking up a set of 19" BBS CH wheels for the M3.
They arrived on Friday.  I'll probably slap them on this week just because I'm to anxious to see how they look on the car :D

Now I have...

18" M6 reps wheels/tires
19" OEM 220M wheels
19" SF-71 wheels/tires

I really need to trim down the selection, but at least this way I can run a different set every month of summer. (Since we only have 4 months of summer at best)

Projects / Picked up a 2009 135i - project car
« on: February 06, 2014, 03:36:03 PM »
A couple days ago I picked up a 2009 M-sport 135 . Alpine white with Red leather interior.
It'll be a work in progress.  It was involved in a front end collision and has a salvage title.  I'm still deciding what route to go:

a) repair and keep it (although my wife wouldn't understand why I need 2 garage queens
b) part it out (I previously parted out a 330 and a 335)
c) Sell it as is.

So far, I've seen a bunch of mods.

a) Exhaust, midpipes and downpipes.
b) Chargepipe and blowoff valve
c) intercooler
d) oil catch can
e) dp fix
f) M3 cluster swap (Previous owner DID NOT do this right)
g) Carbon fiber diffuser
h) Carbon fiber lip (painted AW)

a bunch of other misc. things.   It runs great.  The car has been disassembled so I can see exactly what it will need.
Frame seems untouched, however the engine cradle was damaged on the driver's side. It'll need a new engine cradle and basically replace all of the front drivers side suspension. (that was where the impact was)

Airbags are all good. No problems on the interior.

Originally I purchased it to part out, but I think its actually worth it to repair and get it inspected/registered.

Here are some pics.  I'll update this thread as I do more work.

I added a new "like" system similar to the facebook likes.

What are your thoughts?  Keep it? or ditch it?

General Discussion / Thanks for signing up!
« on: February 03, 2014, 10:16:02 PM »
Hey guys, I just wanted to say thanks for signing up.

A couple of us decided to start a forum dedicated to BMW owners in Alberta.  The forum is small now, but I'm hoping with time, it'll grow to be an awesome community.

A couple people asked if they can help promote the forum by adding a link on their signatures on other forums. Sure, any bit helps.

http://www.albertabimmers.ca/banners   I have a few different banners you can use.

If you want to just use a text link, use
http://www.AlbertaBimmers.ca
that's [ url ]http://www.albertabimmers.ca[ / url]  (get rid of all spaces)

Thanks again for signing up.  Hopefully we can create quite the community
